Reliable as always

This is my third time using Lightning Fibre, upgraded to the 2Gbps Full Fibre Broadband this time. Every experience has been smooth. Installation took about an hour, and the engineer was helpful. Speeds are always as advertised, unlike some previous providers. The service has been consistently reliable for my work-from-home setup. I also appreciate the symmetrical upload speeds, makes a big difference for video calls and backups.

Good deal, solid internet

I was looking to switch from BT and found a good introductory offer for the 500Mbps Full Fibre Broadband. Got the first month free which was a nice saving. Installation was free too, which helped a lot with the overall cost. The speed has been consistent so far, definitely worth what I paid for.

Decent service, minor hiccup

I got the 150Mbps Full Fibre Broadband and it's been pretty solid for general use and streaming. The installation appointment was on time, which was great. Speeds are mostly consistent, though I did have one brief outage last week that lasted about an hour. Customer service was responsive when I called, but it would be nice if the network was a bit more robust. Overall, it's a good value for the price, especially compared to Virgin Media prices.

what's the deal with their social tariff? my mum's looking for cheaper internet.

E Emma L. 3 weeks ago
Yeah, they definitely have one. I know someone who got it, saves them a fair bit. Best to check their website for the eligibility criteria.

They offer a social tariff, which is great. It's usually for people on certain benefits, makes internet way more affordable.

i see they have a black friday deal sometimes. is it usually worth waiting for or are the regular new customer offers just as good?

L Laura 1 month ago
Black Friday deals can be good, but sometimes the regular offers like first month free or amazon vouchers are pretty sweet too. Hard to say if one's 'better'.

It varies, sometimes BF is half price for longer. But they also run other promos pretty often. If you need internet now, I wouldn't necessarily hold out for November.

how long does installation usually take after you sign up? i need internet pretty quick for work.

D Derek 1 month ago
Mine was about 2 weeks from signing up to getting it installed. They kept me updated.

I think it depends if your street is already fibred up. If they need to do more work it might be a bit longer, but they're usually pretty good about scheduling.

anyone got that amazon voucher from referring a friend? how does that work?

I Ivy 3 weeks ago
Yeah, I got one. Your friend just needs to use your referral link when they sign up. It took a few weeks after their installation to get it via email.

My buddy got one, it's pretty straightforward. Just make sure they actually use your link.

does lightning fibre use openreach or is it their own network? just wondering about reliability.

R Raj G. 1 month ago
Nah, it's their own network. That's why it's called 'full fibre' directly to your house.

T Tara Nguyen 1 month ago
They build their own network, so no Openreach. That's a good thing, usually means less congestion and better control over the service.
